Privacy Policy

• Provide, operate, and improve the Ipiry platform
• Generate AI patent valuations using your patent data and KPSS comparable data
• Facilitate marketplace transactions between Buyers and Sellers
• Enforce our anti-circumvention policy by monitoring USPTO assignment records
• Process subscription payments and commissions through Stripe
• Send transactional emails (inquiry notifications, deal updates, payment receipts)
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
• Detect fraud, abuse, and policy violations

As described in our Terms of Service, Ipiry monitors USPTO public patent assignment records for patents listed on our platform. This monitoring is conducted using publicly available data from the USPTO Open Data Portal and is necessary to enforce our anti-circumvention policy. By listing a patent on Ipiry, you consent to this monitoring.

We compare assignment records against our database of platform users to detect potential off-platform transactions. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in protecting platform revenue and enforcing our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With transaction counterparties: Buyer and Seller identities are shared only after both parties execute an NDA through the platform.
• With service providers: Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI valuation), and Vercel (hosting). Each is bound by data processing agreements.
• For legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
• In a business transfer: If Patnu Consulting LLC is acquired or merges, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity subject to the same privacy protections.

• Account data: retained while your account is active + 3 years after deletion
• Transaction records: retained for 7 years for legal and tax purposes
• NDA agreements: retained for 10 years (legal document retention)
• Usage logs: retained for 12 months then deleted
• Patent valuations: retained while your account is active

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention obligations)
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted data storage, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it to security@ipiry.com.
